The City of Oaks Foundation frequently partners with the City of Raleigh and other community organizations to enhance the conservation and recreation value of local land. Through generous donations, the Foundation acquires land that, with donor approval, is often transformed into public parks, nature preserves, greenway trails or dedicated open spaces. By working together, we ensure that these valuable natural areas remain preserved and accessible for the community to enjoy.

While many of the properties the City of Oaks Foundation works with become public parks within the City of Raleigh’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department, some become county parks or are privately held by local land owners or the City of Oaks Foundation. The Foundation assists with conservation easements or other restrictions that protect these lands from disruption.

If you are considering donating land for conservation purposes, the Foundation team would love to connect with you.
