It’s Urban Agriculture Day in Raleigh!  Saturday, October 8th at the Historic Mordecai Gardens Visitor Center at 1 Mimosa St. in Raleigh.

We are sad today to report the passing of our friend, trustee, and Treasurer Bob Kellam, after a harrowing fight against cancer.

Crowdfunding works! See the new bike racks you sponsored through a fundraising drive by the City of Oaks Foundation. They are finally installed at popular locations in downtown Raleigh.

Volunteers are needed to help the City of Oaks Foundation’s tent at this month’s Destination Dix festival on Saturday, July 23rd to supervise lawn games, collect citizen feedback and comments, and give our City of Oaks promotional items to tent visitors.

The City of Oaks Foundation would like to extend its sincere condolences to the surviving family of Mary Coker Joslin, who died on Monday, June 13, 2016, in the Raleigh home where she lived for 65 years. Mrs. Joslin and her husband William, were instrumental in the creation of the City of Oaks Foundation, through which they leave behind the beautiful Joslin Garden as part of their legacy for future generations.

The Destination Dix festival is next month and the City of Oaks Foundation will be there!

This City of Oaks Foundation is pleased to announce its sponsorship of “Bike Workshop 101”, a cycling education program for youth organized at the John Chavis Center by Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources, in partnership with the Active Routes to School Project (Region 5), Wake County Human Services, Raleigh’s Bicycle & Pedestrian program, and Wake County 4-H Youth Development.

The City of Oaks Foundation was honored to present Urban Agriculture Awards to seven local grant recipients as part of the 2016 Raleigh Environmental Awards Program. The event, hosted by the City of Raleigh’s Office of Sustainability and the Raleigh Environmental Advisory Board was held April 21, 2016 at the Glenwood Club in Raleigh.

The annual Raleigh Environmental Awards Program recognizes individuals and organizations that are good stewards of the environment in our community.
