Remembering Mary Coker Joslin…


The City of Oaks Foundation would like to extend its sincere condolences to the surviving family of Mary Coker Joslin, who died on Monday, June 13, 2016, in the Raleigh home where she lived for 65 years. Mrs. Joslin and her husband William, were instrumental in the creation of the City of Oaks Foundation, through which they leave behind the beautiful Joslin Garden as part of their legacy for future generations.

The Destination Dix festival is next month and the City of Oaks Foundation will be there!

Mark your calendars for 10AM – 7PM on Saturday, July 23rd. The free, family-friendly public festival will mark the one-year anniversary of the sale of the Dorothea Dix campus by the State of North Carolina to the City of Raleigh.

Foundation to Sponsor Bike Workshop at Chavis Park

This City of Oaks Foundation is pleased to announce its sponsorship of “Bike Workshop 101”, a cycling education program for youth organized at the John Chavis Center by Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources, in partnership with the Active Routes to School Project (Region 5), Wake County Human Services, Raleigh’s Bicycle & Pedestrian program, and Wake County 4-H Youth Development.
